Zechariah 1:20-21 and the next Temple
Question: Who were the craftsmen of Zechariah 1:20-21?
According to common consensus, they are made up of “Gentiles who have dominated/overrun Israel” in history. That would imply one or more of their traditional enemies in the near/mid-east; of which are listed in the Bible.
That opinion gives a quite large choice; but, as the context implies just prior to Jerusalem’s reestablishment to Israel’s full control, (Chapter 2), the origin nations are probably local, to Israel.
As the next Temple is the most significant sign to those events; and as the Anti-Christ has yet to appear; and as he is described as “the Assyrian”, that personage will have very extensive power with the surrounding nations to Israel, and is likely to have considerable “authority” with both Israel and the Arabs!
This would allow decisions to be made, which at present are impossible, and would appease both factions regarding Jerusalem and the next Temple and its location!
These above factors would then allow the prophecy of Daniel’s 70th week.
