Peter, and the "Dispersed of Israel"
Question: What did 2Peter 1:20-21 say? About the Old Testament?
1 and 2Peter were written in approx. AD60, just prior to Acts 28:25–28 (approx. AD 61–62), and were specifically addressed to the “Dispersion” (IE Jews dispersed) in “Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia”. They are written in the mode of the pre- Acts 28:28 enactment of Isa. 6:9–10; which introduced the condition on the Jews of “Lo-Ammi” (not My people); see Hos.1&2.After Acts 28:28; the offer of Salvation was intentionally extended in power to the “Gentiles” of the world, with them as “first priority”; but not excluding Jews who could see through “the veil” imposed by God on their understanding” (2Cor.3:14–16)! So; the answer to your question is that Peter was doing the job of Apostle to the Dispersed Jews, which message was about to be given a new impetus to the Gentiles, because the Sanhedrin and the Roman Jews all finally rejected the fact of Christ Jesus being the Messiah to the Jews; which is still the case today, and will not change until the events of Zech. 12:10! As an aside; the Roman Church claims Peter as the first Pope; but there is no evidence to back that claim! See: Israel Lost, Israel Saved! (Comment & study)
Prophecy in Scripture is nearly always related to God’s intentions regarding His people Israel.
>People who claim to speak for God Almighty in these times need to be handled very carefully.
>People who claim to have special powers such as was apparent in the early Acts, should be avoided, or if a person is able, they should be challenged!
>We have to remember that in the end time events as shown in Revelation, Satanic activity will increase!
>We should if at all possible be a member of a True Bible believing group.
