Question: What was the significance of Abraham’s sacrifice of his son Isaac.
He didn't; God provided Himself a Lamb! (Gen. 22:8).
To test Abraham's faith in God, He ordered Abraham to set up the sacrifice of Isaac; however, at the critical moment an angel stopped Abraham when he was about to slay his son, and replaced Isaac with a ram; this is the last of the 10 trials to which God subjected Abraham.
This was a prophetic statement of God’s Only Begotten Son’s Sacrifice on the Calvary Cross; for the Sin of the world!
