Question: What does Isaiah 54:11-12 mean?
V.54:5 is the recipient of the vs.11–12, (Israel).
It shows God as Israel’s “husband” (“the Lord of Hosts is His name”).
V.7: shows the temporary “forsaken” status of Israel (Lo-Ammi), but shows that eventually she (Israel) will be gathered to Him (God the Father), via Christ Jesus!
V.10: Shows God’s great love for Israel; “who has mercy on Israel”.
Vs.11&12: shows Israel “afflicted” (see the last 2000+ years and summary in Malachi), which gives way to great riches (in Christ Jesus), and v.13, “the Lord” will teach their children, who will be in “great peace” (and joy)!
All of the above must await the “second Advent of Christ Jesus”, their Messiah Who was forsaken at Acts 28:25–28; see Zech.12:10!
