Question: What is the meaning of Hebrews 9?
Hebrews was written in AD 53 approx.; and was before Acts, AD 63 approx. This dating is important because in Acts 28:25–28, the prophecy in Isa. re. Israel’s blindness and deafness was applied! The whole of Hebrews was written when the Jews were “Ammi” (My people), and were still to be reached first with the “Word” of “Salvation in Christ’s shed blood”! When in Acts 28 they finally rejected Jesus as their long- awaited Messiah; Paul made the declaration in vs. 25–28; which made the Jews “Lo-Ammi”(not My people); and the Gospel was then sent to “the Gentiles, and they will hear”! That condition still applies at present, but will change; probably quite soon; after “the great tribulation” (Jacob’s Trouble); which will then switch back to “the Jew first” (Ammi); at Christ Jesus’ Second Advent!
Hebrews 9, is a summary of the failure etc. of Israel in the Old Testament; and vs. 23–28 summarises the need for Christ’s sin Sacrifice!
