Israel and the Nations, regarding God's Will
Question: What does Isaiah 45 mean?
From the beginning of Isaiah Almighty God had been striving with the nations surrounding Israel; and Israel, as to the standing of Himself and themselves, and the relative power and importance of their relationship!
In Chapter 45, God is reiterating some of that, and from Vs.14–25 He is summarizing the facts in a show of sincerity and relative simplicity, in endeavour to win over especially Israel. We know from many places in the Bible, especially Malachi, that this is unsuccessful, and that when the solution to their problem is presented in the person of Christ Jesus, that He also is repelled, before Pilate, and also at Acts. 28:25–28, (Isa. 6:9–10) !
