Israel and the Fig!

Question: Can we compare the book of Jeremiah, Chapter 24 to the present (2022)?

Jeremiah was written between 518 BC and 452 BC.

The description of the two baskets of Figs shows the good and the bad!  (Also IMO this has some ref. to the division of the Kingdom after Solomon’s death!)

The “Fig” generally in the Bible represents the physical and spiritual health of the nation of Israel!

In your question you wish to parallel that time with today's world; which IMO you cannot do precisely, but can be done in metaphor linked to prophecy on Israel!

What IMO you can do under the “Fig” representation, and is valid, is to see that the Lord’s Words re. the “Fig tree” in Matt. 24:32–34!

This means that “Israel” is getting closer to culminations described by Jesus in Matt. 24, and Daniel!

It also shows that at least half of Israel will be against God, even when He has restored them to their land in the future!
