Question: Should Psalm 55 be treated as a prophecy of future events?
When viewed from the standpoint of 2022, the following is the determinant for each event.
The statement by Paul to the Jews of Rome in Acts 28:25–28, was prophesied by Isaiah in Isa. 6:9–10, which was approx. BC 649–630, which at that time was prophecy, but when given was AD 63 approx., the then present.
In Isa. 6:11–13, is given the answer to the question, “how long Lord” which shows until a “desolation” in the Land is reached regarding depopulation of the Land, but; “the holy seed shall be the root thereof”, which points to the preservation of God’s people, and that when that stage is/was reached, it is the turning point regarding the prophesied “Lo-Ammi” (not My people) condition of the Jewish nation!
Since 1948, the repopulation has commenced, and in 2018 the 70th year was reached, which in Jewish history is a very notable time period, when events relative to Israel are often culminated, or start to take place.
For the Jews to become “Ammi” (My people) again, they must acknowledge their long promised Messiah; which according to the Zech.12:10 prophecy, cannot happen until “they look upon Him who they pierced”; that therefore is yet future, and prophecy!
