Question: Who was Paul referring to when he said, “For it is written that Abraham had two sons: one by the bondwoman and one by the free woman".
Paul was speaking to the Galatian Church, in approx. AD 58; and was still teaching primarily to the Jews, which did not change until Acts 28:25–28, (approx. AD 63–4).
In this section, speaking to “Ammi” Jews, he is referring to the two Covenants, and explaining the advantage of the 2nd. in Christ Jesus, i.e. “all sin forgiven in Him”!
When in AD 63–4, the Jews rejected their Messiah finally, they became “Lo-Ammi” (not My people), and the Gospel of Christ Jesus went out to the whole world, and will remain thus until Zech .12:10!
