God; and Free-Will!

Question:  If God does not repent (1Samuel 15:29, and Numbers 23:19), then did He repent or was He merely saddened but did not repent in Genesis 6:6, 1Samuel 15:35 and Jonah 3:10?

In each of the Verses you have quoted, to me and IMO, the main lesson for the reader is the incredible pain that the “Fallen Nature” of each situation gives to Almighty God!

The way the Text expresses God’s pain uses different words, but that in no way shows a vacillating God; but a God Who is sacrificing His personal peace for the purpose of eventually drawing a people to Himself for personal relationship, whom He has granted FREE-WILL for their lifetime!

When seen in the context of the whole Bible, from Creation to Revelation, the outline of God’s Plan starts to show; which is drafted in brief form below:

1st. Covenant  {Embodied in the Ark of the Covenant}  (Old Testament); target peoples; Israel!

2nd. Covenant  {Embodied in Christ Jesus}  (New Testament); target peoples up to Acts, Israel and their Messiah; after Acts 28:25–28, target peoples; primarily Gentiles; which will remain until Zech.12:10!

The two Covenants will be fulfilled at Zech. 12:10, when the Jews will acknowledge Christ Jesus as their Messiah, and (after much mourning) will take their place as “a Kingdom of priests unto God” and the Son; Who will reside in the new Temple in Jerusalem, and “their name shall be One” Zech. 14:9!

So, as can be seen above, the Jews eventually accept Jesus as their Messiah, and as a Nation are then operational worldwide in the service of God/Christ Jesus!

The Gentiles numbers (and Jews that can see through the “vail”) are increased from Acts 28:28, up to a number that is known by Almighty God (Romans 11:25–27) at some time in the future; and is the reference that Jesus mentioned in John 10:16!
