Question: How do you reconcile 2Chronicles 7:14, Mark 1:15, Acts 2:38 and Roman 10:9 with regards to being saved from our sins? I failed to give them the same meaning and interpretation.
It’s not a matter of “reconciling” the references but understanding them in context!
The teachings of Christendom over the last 2,000 + years, has left people in a daze of confusion!
Each one of the references you quoted are God’s attempts to reconcile Israel to Himself! The way you have studied this subject (or been taught), leaves you with the disadvantage of thinking in the wrong context!
I have to say that I do understand your feelings on this, as my wife and I struggled for many years with exactly the same questions, see link below.
The key to this dilemma is what is called the “Right Division” (or proper understanding) of Scripture, which the Apostle Paul mentioned in 2Timothy 2:15! The great Bible translator Miles Coverdale said:
“It shall greatly help you to understand Scripture, if thou mark not only what is spoken, or written, but of whom, and to whom, with what words, at what time, where, to what intent, with what circumstance, considering what goeth before, and what followeth” (Miles Coverdale).
Now to get to the heart of your dilemma, the Key, in this case, is Acts 28:25–28, where the Apostle Paul under the direction of the Risen Lord Jesus issues the prophecy of Isaiah 6:9–10, which changed the status of Israel from Ammi (My people), to Lo-Ammi (not My people), and which in the same prophecy stated that “the Gospel will go to the Gentiles, and they will hear”!
That is still the same condition that still prevails today, and will remain until Zech. 12:10, when Israel will meet the Risen Christ Jesus, and will GREATLY mourn!
So you see that all Scripture that shows Almighty God appealing to Israel ceased in AD 63 which is the date of the Acts 28:28 declaration, and God’s frustration is summarized in Malachi!!
God handed to Jesus, the final appeal, which is why He stated “I am come only to the lost sheep of Israel"; that prevailed until Acts 28:25-28, after which the Gentiles become God’s first priority until Zech.12:10!
All appeals to Israel are now ceased except for a few special “Completed” Jews, who have taken Christ Jesus to heart in the same way as Gentile Christians, when the Holy Spirit, (the Comforter) showed them TRUTH, and their ‘Free-will’ was enacted to give Salvation unto the “Body” of Christ Jesus, (see link below).
